Keep in mind that you can still die of brainlessness if brainsucked by a mind flayer with a helm of brilliance on - brainlessness checks for a base intelligence of 3. Conversely, a role with incredibly high spell-casting penalties such as a Valkyrie or Barbarian will not notice any significant gains in that regard, and will get far less use out of the helm outside of the possibility of foocubi encounters (and even then, the helm may end up removed mid-interaction). However, for a character with already-low spell failure rates, such as a Wizard, a helm of brilliance will likely not have a noticeable effect. In addition, wearing an enchanted helm of brilliance will slightly improve energy regeneration and may give you a larger amount of maximum power when leveling up, since both are influenced by wisdom and energy regeneration is also influenced by intelligence. It is especially beneficial to characters who want to cast high-level spells in spell schools that they are limited in, such as a high level Priest attempting to cast polymorph using the Mitre of Holiness. The helm of brilliance is generally useful for spell-casting, as higher intelligence and wisdom stats reduce the failure rate of high-level spells and mitigates the penalties from wearing metallic armor. The Mitre of Holiness, the Priest quest artifact, is an artifact helm of brilliance. Even though the helm of brilliance is iron, it does not hinder spellcasting. Wearing an enchanted helm of brilliance will auto-identify it, as will enchanting the helm at +0. The helm of brilliance modifies the wearer's Intelligence and Wisdom by its amount of enchantment, in addition to its normal AC bonus.

It shoots really nice, and I got the best velocity and smoothest recoil impulse with it. I also recommend trying the SBR SOCOM powder. I think 458 needs something in between a standard and a magnum, and Winchester seems like they would work great. I would recommend grabbing a brick of each to screw around with to figure out what your gun likes.Īlso, my plan once all this shit is over, is to switch to Winchester primers in 458. They are pretty soft.ĬCI LPPs aren't particularly hard to find in either the magnums or standards. I've used Fed primers in 458 SOCOM, but only when I can't find anything else, and I treat dropping the bolt like pulling the trigger with those. Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with H110. Actually, I found W296 just terrifying in 458 SOCOM. However, the 350s were downright terrifying with W296. The 300s with SBR SOCOM were a little more consistent, and with 2200 they had some unburnt powder I didn't get with the 350s. This propellant has a burn rate and temperature sensitivity very similar to Hodgdon. I've tested CCI 350 and 300s with 2200 and SBR SOCOM, and it looked like they are basically interchangeable with those powders. I have been blowing up hogs with the 458 for a few years now and I will say that it is one of the best pig killing loads out there. SOCOM, where rapid transformation from powder to gas is desired. The boot’s liner was also anatomically shaped for out-of-the-box comfort and secure heel hold, which held up both before and after the liners were molded. Even before we molded them, these boots were quite comfortable. This boot shell’s anatomical shape matched our feet for a best-in-class fit straight out of the box - an achievement we’ve rarely experienced. The boot board also has dimples to guide techs in the fitting process. Tecnica simplifies the process for ski techs by molding dimples into the shell that reduce surface tension and clearly indicate modification-friendly zones. The Mach 1 is designed to be thermo-molded, and the shell, liner, footboard, and tongue can be customized through molding as well as punching and grinding. The spine regulated the boot’s flex so we could ski with more power and precision in all snow, temperatures, and terrain. To give this all-mountain, high-performance boot maximum lateral stiffness and forward drive, Tecnica used a carbon spine to connect the cuff to the shell. Our team tested both and regardless of our foot shape, these boots earned the highest marks. LV stands for low-volume, meaning the boot has a narrower last. MV stands for mid-volume, so those boots are a medium sole or regular fit. Possibly the most comfortable, easy-driving full-alpine boot we’ve ever worn, the Tecnica Mach 1 MV ($700) is a powerful boot that kept our feet warm even on the coldest days.
The only thing that held it back was its price, which is $70 more than the Lezyne Macro Drive 1300XXL.īut you get plenty for the price. The NiteRider 1200 OLED Boost narrowly missed out on the top spot in the best bike headlights list. It’s on the heavy side for a light at 208 grams, and it takes up a bit more handlebar space than the thinner mount on the NiteRider 1200 OLED Boost.īut that seems to be about the only downside to this powerful light. The only real downside to the Lezyne Macro Drive 1300XXL is its size. That allows you to adjust the light level and pattern on the fly without having to remove your hands from the bar. With 1,300 lumens, you won’t be in short supply of light.Īnd you can even add an optional remote switch ($15) that mounts closer to your handlebar’s grips. It’s great if you’ll be riding dark roads and trails and need to see as much as possible. The beam itself casts a broad light in front of you, with a concentration of light in the center of the beam. But once it’s in place, it’s easy to adjust the position and the light stays solidly in place. It’s so thick, in fact, that it can be a touch difficult to pull it to length to secure it to the hook on the other end of the mount. It’s a thick band that seems like it’s built to stand the test of time. The mount offers a stable system that’s easily adjustable to handlebars of various thicknesses. At the 450-lumen setting, the Macro Drive lasted just under eight hours. The Macro Drive lasted longer than any other headlight in the test at the highest setting, shining brightly for just under three hours. Pugh stars as Alice, a dutiful housewife in a planned community known as the Victory Project. But that doesn’t mean the heavily teased twist isn’t worth unpacking-if only because it proves the film doesn’t need the extracurricular hoopla to fall short on its own terms. The gossip mill had other plans, of course. The question of what, exactly, lies beneath its glossy, mid-century surface is meant to drive audience interest, not the all-but-confirmed rumors that Wilde and leading lady Florence Pugh are on the outs. And it deserves to be evaluated on those terms, too.ĭon’t Worry Darling is also a mystery of sorts. It is, in theory, a feminist thriller helmed by a promising filmmaker whose debut was profitable and well liked enough to spark an 18-way bidding war for her follow-up. (Though my colleague Katie Baker put together a comprehensive guide.) But at the end of the day, Don’t Worry Darling isn’t just an occasion for fervent gossip or Miss Flo memes. Olivia Wilde’s second film as a director has spent the past month engulfed in a flood of leaked videos, canceled interviews, and alleged spit, a PR fiasco we don’t need to revisit here. At this point, to treat Don’t Worry Darling as an actual movie with a plot, script, and creative choices is to do it a favor. Shades: 10 | Waterproof: No | Active Ingredients: Castor oil, panthenol pro vitamin B5Īfter researching the top-rated eyebrow pencils on the market and asking makeup artists for their expert recommendations, we spent 30 hours putting the 38 of most popular eyebrow pencils to the test in our Manhattan-based lab. Shades like Honey Blonde and Taupe needed to be applied with extra pressure to get our desired end look. Though, we did notice that the lighter colors didn’t have the best pigment payoff. With 10 colors, including an often overlooked gray hue, we’re confident that most people would be able to find the perfect match. Plus, the built-in spoolie brush blended everything for cohesive, snatched brows.Īlong with the versatile design, we were equally impressed by the shade range. The thick side of the pencil filled in our bald spots, while the thin side helped to sculpt our arches and add feathered strokes for fuller defined brows. Through our testing, we found this Kosas pick to be the most user-friendly, with its multipurpose triangle-shaped tip. If you’re just beginning your brow journey, we recommend choosing a pencil that can sculpt, define, and fill in your brows with minimal effort. Shades: 9 | Waterproof: No | Active Ingredients: Micro-crystalline wax, castor oil Ultimately, we consider this a stellar pick for thicker brows that need a little extra oomph, but thin brows should opt for something a bit more precise. That said, because of the larger tip, we had a difficult time creating hair-like strokes. Plus, once the formula set our brows looked perfect for the entire day - we didn’t experience any smudging, and our eyebrows still looked fresh by the time we were ready to take our makeup off. The dual-ended pencil, which featured a thicker angled tip and a fluffy blending brush, efficiently filled in our brows, covering sparse spots for more uniform arches. During our lab test, we found that the Fill & Fluff Eyebrow Pencil Pomade from NYX worked like a charm to fill in the gaps between our thick brow hairs. If you have thick brows, you may not need a ton of help, but having a trusty brow pencil on hand to even out your arches can be a total game changer. It's not ideal for creating hairlike strokes. Shades: 5 | Waterproof: No | Active Ingredients: Grapeseed oil, vitamin E With only five shades to choose from, many people will have to miss out on this stellar product. Truthfully, it was difficult to pinpoint a con, we wish the color range was more expansive. The handy spoolie on the other side made it easy to diffuse the color, so our brows looked defined but still natural.Īside from adding the ideal amount of pigment, the formula also helps condition and promote brow growth over time thanks to nourishing grapeseed oil and vitamin E. We only needed to apply slight pressure while filling out our brows to get a rich pigment. For such an affordable pick, we were pleasantly surprised by the color payoff, too. We have particularly thick brows with a few sparse spots, and this pencil quickly evened out our arches, making them look fuller. The dual-ended precision liner and spoolie duo allowed us to tame, shape, and define our brows in seconds. The shade range left a little to be desired.īetween the price point (under $5!) and the creamy smudge-proof formula, this budget eyebrow pencil swfitly earned top marks during our test. Shades: 12 | Waterproof: No | Active Ingredients: Vitamin E, hydrogenated castor oil Our brows stayed perfectly intact until it was time to remove our makeup at the end of the day. We do wish that the creamy formula was waterproof, but we still found it to be extremely long-lasting. We were also impressed with this pencil’s shade range: With 12 options to choose from, it has the most variety of all the products we tested. Because of the duality, we consider this pencil ideal for all types of brows, including thin and patchy arches. Beyond seamlessly drawing on soft, hairlike strokes, we were also able to use this to shade in sparse areas of our brows with minimal effort. While not as thin as the Brow Wiz, we found that the slanted triangular tip of this pencil was extremely versatile. In our lab test, we tried two of the brand’s best-selling brow pencils, but the Brow Definer reigned supreme. Aside from being responsible for JLo's snatched eyebrows, she also is the mastermind behind her eponymous brand, Anastasia Beverly Hills. Though long-lasting, we wish this formula was waterproof.Īnastasia Soare knows brows. They come in a variety of different styles, colors and finished. But if it’s anywhere near the same as it used to be with a PSD than it will be a while…Īnyhow, I think (as much as I dislike many of their SW-decisions) Microsoft has done this part pretty much spot on with their office-suite: offer to save in an older format. (not sure how “open” the file format is from a dev point of view). I can see why IDML isn’t exactly supported, after all it’s an adobe thing. I really think that this is a bit of a serious compatibility issue… but it still means keeping V1 in place… which isn’t possible on the iPad Pro (no v1). Sure the „easy way out“ would be to simply „force“ the other parties to buy the V2 apps… and whilst I personally find pricing to be very reasonable, I don‘t think its the solution I‘m looking for.Ĭopy & Paste : well this would work - on my own computer …. Which also means v2 on the ipad is often out of the question. Which means I need to keep relying on V1 - keep a double install … and always make sure to ask whether it‘s from v1 or v2. It also means I had to recreate the changes I had made from scratch in V1 (I used the Macbook which had still both versions installed - if I had only had the iPad at hand it wouldn‘t have been possible at all) … which meant a few hours of work just because version change.Īlso when someone shares an AFPUB file with me, I have no practical way of knowing whether it‘s v1 or v2… so when I open it in v2 - no problems… but save and share back for some more collaborative work - and if the sender had made it using with V1 they can‘t keep working on it. That does sort of work - but you loose pretty much all usable editability (text boxes are one line text-items etc… which makes collaborating on that document pretty much useless.) I‘ve tried to „work around“ the issue by exporting as a PDF… and then sending the PDF and open that in V1. Or offer export / Import in both V2 and V1 with a compatibility format, or IDML or whatever …. (especially considering the original file was made with V1) There‘s no option to save the file for an older version (MS Office has been offering that feature for ages)… I‘d be perfectly happy to loose a few features in the file, but give me some option to export it so that someone with an older version (one version) of Publisher can OPEN it …. I thought, „no Problem“ I just do an export to something else…īut there is simply NOTHING I could do that would work. That, whilst annoying, would be „understandable“ with feature advancements etc, often in SW-Dev it‘s difficult to achieve a complete backwards compatibility with newer files. Only to hear back from the recipient in a short time, that she couldn‘t open the File anymore …Īpparently the V2 files, same file extension etc… are indeed not backwards compatible at all. Yesterday I received a Publisher File (made in V1 by someone else) - and proceeded to make a few changes I wanted, then saved it and sent it back. The following issue is NOT Exclusive to the iPad - it‘s the same on the Desktop app… Package your document alongside all used image and font resources before transferring to a colleague, or collate multiple files to create one large document like a book or annual report.I‘ve been a long time user of the V1 Apps (on MacOs mostly) and also on iPad Os… and recently upgraded to the V2 apps.
